Fished with regular client and pal Tyler yesterday. Tyler is an excellent fisherman and really knows his way around a rod and reel. Weather was sunny but crazy windy. Water temp was 70 degrees. We had planned on going to Montauk but couldn’t get there with the wind. That ended up be a good thing… Continue reading False Albacore Heaven

Albies are Back Again
Fished with Kelly, Mike and Kelly’s dad, Tim, today. Weather was nice and finally had no wind to speak of. Left the dock and almost immediately found Albies right near the Thames River mouth. There weren’t a ton of fish but we chased them for a half hour or so before heading to the reefs.… Continue reading Albies are Back Again
Lots of Bluefish !!!!
Fished with Jennifer and Zach from CT by way of Buffalo and North Carolina. Both were experienced fisher-people. We were originally after False Albacore but we didn't find the speedsters in any of the spot they normally hang out. Decided to fish for giant Bluefish and probably got a dozen to the boat. As luck… Continue reading Lots of Bluefish !!!!
BIG BLUEFISH 🎣 and an Albie!!!
Fished with a very experienced fisherman (and regular client), Billy, and his long time pal Max. Max hadn’t done much fishing but we fixed that in just a few short hours. Went to my favorite spot for HUGE Bluefish and were immediately rewarded with the big gators. Max hooked up almost immediately and Billy wasn’t… Continue reading BIG BLUEFISH 🎣 and an Albie!!!
Wifey Wanted to Fish
So I took Monday off to take the love of my life (my wife Cynthia) fishing. The last time I took her fishing was 33 years ago. Had a late start and finally arrived at the dock around noon. Weather was sunny and hot but a little windy. I loaded the gear on the boat… Continue reading Wifey Wanted to Fish
Slow Start – Fast Finish
Fished with Jessica and her posse today…all CT locals. Started out at Valiant and caught a few Black Seabass and a nice bluefish but fishing was pretty slow. About the time we were getting bored a pal of mine texted me that the fish were going off at Plum Gut. Weather was okay but windy… Continue reading Slow Start – Fast Finish
Columbian Connection.
Fished Hernando, his two brothers and his 80 year old father today. To be honest Fishing wasn’t very good. Maybe the worst day I’ve had this year. Never the less they didn’t travel from Columbia, Wisconsin and DC for a boat ride. So we really fished hard to get 2 giant bluefish (hooked 5 or… Continue reading Columbian Connection.
ALBIES ARE HERE
So this is as early as I remember our speedy False Albacore pals showing up. But yesterday Fat Albert’s were at Watch Hill, The various beaches east of Watch Hill and a couple of my spots here in CT. Would really like all of my regulars to have a chance at them this year and… Continue reading ALBIES ARE HERE
Giant Bluefish and a Thresher.
Fished Guy, Christine, Cameron & Alex yesterday afternoon. Guy and Cameron are experienced fishermen but not so much for Christine and Alex. As it turned out experience wasn’t an absolute requirement as we caught Giant Bluefish until the whole gang (including me) was completely worn out. Interesting that these fish were on top under birds… Continue reading Giant Bluefish and a Thresher.
Kid Records on Bluefish.
Fished with Christine, Rob and their three wonderful kids this morning. Fished right off Harkness first thing and found Stripers and Bluefish but they turned out to me fussy eaters. Caught a couple but didn’t get a bunch. From there on it turned out to be game on with giant Bluefish near Little Gull Island.… Continue reading Kid Records on Bluefish.
