Fished my annual trip with local Scott and his NYC son Tom. Had a wonderful time but the wind made for some really rough seas and lots of slow going. Didn’t slow down the fishing though as we blasted some monster Bluefish. We looked for Albies as well to no avail. This year the Albies are seemingly here one day and gone the next. When they are here there aren’t a bunch of them either. Hoping that will change in the coming days. Fish were caught on both tides with an edge for the ebb tide. Scott, Tom and I had a ball. Besides the big bluefish we also caught a boatload of ground fish while we waited for tide changes. All fish caught on light spinning and baitcasters with 15 or 20 lb flouro leaders. Looking forward to seeing these two again next year.
