Fished with locals Jim and Mark today. We were a fly rod and spinning rod combo today. Headed out on the middle of the ebb to a local reef and hammered Bluefish to 10 lbs. Many/many doubles for 3-4 hours. Headed up to Orient Point looking for Albies and only hung one Bluefish. So back on the hunt we went. 20 minutes later we were knee deep in nice size bluefish again. End of ebb we headed for Watch Hill. Immediately on arrival (beginning of flood tide) we got into a mountain of nice size Stripers (in the surf) by Taylor Swift’s house. Some of these Stripers on the beach were BIG. Caught maybe 10 and decided to leave The fish a little early even though they were still tearing it up. These surf fish were a real thrill. Anyway the two guys caught loads of fish today. Note: I looked everywhere from Orient Point to Watch Hill and never got into Albies. My guess is they’ll show at the ‘New Moon’ in a couple of days. Fingers crossed!!!! Can’t wait for them to show!!!
