Fished with CT locals Tyler (a regular) and his brother AJ today. Both are good fishermen and as energetic as they come. We planned on fishing 8 hours but cut it short to 7. Found Albies but really struggled to get them to eat. Probably had 50 good shots and were only able to get one. The one fish was a giant though. I’ve been fishing in CT for 30 years and specialize in false albacore. This fish was a giant for CT. Well over 15lbs. Tyler caught the beast on 1oz chrome jig with 15lb leader. The fish took about 15 minutes to get in. When he finally got to the boat I was shocked at his size. I get BIG Albies in North Carolina every year but never toads like this here in CT. Really a fish of a life time. So happy that Tyler caught it too. He’s a die hard fisherman and really deserved this catch.
