Both trips this weekend were similar. Had to run 25 miles east to west to find fish at the exact right time on the tide. Both days we got lucky and found fish but we really had to work to find them. Albies arrived over a week ago now and were starting to get in pretty thick only to be more scarce this weekend. To be sure we found them but getting them to eat was another thing. Albies this year are many times mixed in with Bonito and the Bonito are nice size fish. Bluefish have been showing up in high schools and not only have we found a lot of them but we’ve found some pretty big fish on the fly and spinning rods. Weather over the weekend was nice. Made fishing dark to dark even more fun than usual.
