Fished a great father and son team today from northern CT. We came loaded for anything and everything, and as it turns out that was good. First stop was to catch some giant porgies because they were having a BBQ and told their family that they’d bring something home they could eat. First cast in 8ft of water brought a huge porgy. These fish were eating tiny jugs tipped with squid on very light tackle with no weights. Makes porgy fishing a blast. We caught a bunch then headed out for some real sport fish. Next stop was for Stripers. First drop was a nice Striper on the son’s brand new rod. We were dripping diamond jigs and we ended that tide with over a dozen nice Stripers, all of which were released to fight another day. Ended our day with two huge hump back sea bass. Really good time had by all. Can’t wait to fish these two again.
