I fished with Ken and Mark today, two really nice CT locals. It was overcast, cool and windy most of the day. Fortunately, those crazy False Albacore like it like that. We didn’t find many fish but those we found were catchable. Nearly every cast that was right on the fish produced a take. We had 5 to the boat and got 3 in the boat plus a whopper/chomper Bluefish. All the fish ate a 1oz diamond jig on 10lb. braid with a 9’, 14lb fluorocarbon leader. Mark is a pretty good fly fisherman and we had our chances but it was too windy for the fly rod today unless you were a daily fly roder. Anyway, both guys had fished for Albies before, with another good guide, and had yet to catch one before so…..check that box!!! Two more CT Fishing Report updates tomorrow.
