Nice Day and a Few Fish

Fished with Mark and his son Noah today. They were in town looking at colleges for Noah and took the afternoon off to do some fishing.  Noah was a very accomplished fisherman and he needed to be today. We ran 60 miles and got a couple Bluefish and schoolie Stripers before finally landing a decent striper in the rip’s by Plum Gut. Fish seemed like they were on squid so we switched to pink swim baits which did the trick. Fish are just starting to show on the reefs and birds were working pretty hard today.  All in all we did more fishing than catching but had a good day none the less. Water temp was right around 58-60.  Would like to see it pick up a couple degrees with the new moon. Perhaps that will turn the fish on for good this season.
