Fished with Jeffrey and his two young sons from Columbia, CT yesterday. We only had four hours so we had to make the best of it. Started out with nearly slack tide at Race Rock. Not much doing there so we were off heading west. The tide started ebbing and it was game on. The two boys caught Bluefish after Striper until they lost count of all the fish. Bluefish ran the gambit from 2-10 lbs. All the Stripers were in the 24-30” range but really nice for light tackle / spinning gear. Anyway, I was thinking I’d need to take some time for the boys with a casting lesson but these boys didn’t need it. Sidearm, overhead, backcast they did it all and never skipped a beat. All the boys fish were caught on 1oz chrome jigs or 5” paddle tail swim-baits with 1oz jig heads and 15lb test with a fast retrieve. Fish were hot on both tides. Anyway, can’t wait to fish with Jeffrey and his fantastic kids again.
